Welcome
Hi, I'm Abdullah Yasin Etcibaşı. I am working towards my PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University. I have been interested in drawing & painting, and model making as a hobby for almost 20 years. You can find some of my works on this site, and also you can check out my bio down below.
I am currently pursuing a PhD degree at The Ohio State University, with a primary focus on vehicular communication. My interests also include IRSs, beamforming, massive MIMO, mmWave, and channel modeling. I earned my MS degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Hacettepe University in 2022, where I focused on coverage probability analysis of IRS-aided mmWave networks. My MS studies were supported by Türktelekom, a major mobile carrier in Turkey, as part of the 5G and Beyond Joint Graduate Support Programme coordinated by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority.
I earned my Bc.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Hacettepe University in 2020 as a salutatorian. I did my junior year internship in ASELSAN A.Ş about 5G user equipment synchronization. My task was to estimate the time and frequency offset, and the cell-id in the downlink. I used the maximum likelihood estimation method and simulated it in MatLab. My internship report can be found here.
In my senior year, we completed the graduation project with the support of ROKETSAN A.Ş. (ASELSAN and ROKETSAN are the top defense industry companies in Turkey). I was the team leader in that project, called Laser Range Finder with Image Tracking. Since I am keen on designing, I also worked on 3D CAD design and implementation. The main purpose of that project was to track a 10x10cm object from 10 meters and measure the distance between the platform and the object. Also, the platform had to be worked remotely and controlled via a controller PC. The presentation of our project can be seen below.
